‘A Rogue Chapbook’ series is inspired by the chapbooks produced by Goddard College Press in the 60’s. Square, black books, with high contrast graphics, these volumes take a deconstructionist approach to the Bauhaus school of graphic design. This series is devoted specifically to poetry! The ‘Rogue-folio’ series is our prose collection. These books are designed with an attention to graphic clarity and rhythm, as well as economy. They are designed using the Van de Graaf canon; and their use of type is heavily influenced by designer Adrian Wilson. ‘The New Scene Poets Series’ emerged out of The New Scene reading series developed by writers Anthony Guilbert and Robert Dietz. The series opened in May of 2000 at the Hansom House, a Jazz/Reggae club in Southampton, NY, and closed in 2007 at the popular Folsom Street Coffee Company in Boulder, CO. The inertia of the series also spawned The New Scene Quarterly. Although only two authors were published in this series, there are plans to re-open the imprint in 2010. Karma Dog Editions: 1990 to 2005 In 2005, after the passing of ‘Scooter’ the press mascot, Anthony Guilbert retired the Karma Dog imprint. For 15 years, Karma Dog Editions published some of New York’s most well known poets. |
